Beginning on October 11, Sprint will offer its first Android device, the HTC Hero, for $179.99 with a two-year contract and unlimited data plan. Everyone can breath a sigh of relief for the unlimited data. The HTC Hero is hands down the most full featured Google Android device on the table, bringing some notable improvements and a highly customizable interface. While sometimes on the slow side I don’t fault the device for this, because the tasks we are currently transferring the the smartphone platform is impressive and robust. HTC’s Hereo also improves on past Android phones with Outlook e-mail and calendar, contacts synchronization, a full size 3.5mm headphone jack, 5-megapixel camera. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and 3G support are all onboard. Just recently Cellular South, a smaller regional carrier, announced that it would be carrying the HTC Hero. Pre Orders start Oct. 5th. |
